Kids Summer Camp
Our 2018 summer camp was a success, continuing our efforts to help spread STEM into our local community. Our 5-day summer camp taught our participants a variety of engineering, programming, and building skills. Campers used a LEGO EV3 robot to complete a variety of challenges, as well as preparing a presentation for the end of camp. In addition, our students participated in a variety of fun-filled STEM activities. Experiences at our camp allow campers to leave with an enriched STEM background, and an increase in collaborative and team-working abilities.

Ronald McDonald House Charities
RMHC Charities is Cyber Shock's first philanthropy activity, and is anticipated to continue monthly for the remainder of the school year. Our team prepared a variety of 3 STEM activities for young children (Lava lamps, straw rockets, and a catapult). While at the home, we demonstrated the activities and gave the children there a chance to build and explore catapults and miniature rockets.
Additionally, our team signed up to participate in the "Baking Buddies" effort at the home, and spent the latter half of our time there baking brownies with the kids. |
UCF STEM Day
Our 2018 visit to UCF's STEM day was a huge success! We were able to demo Reign for a variety of K-12 students, as well as teach younger kids how to use and program EV3 robots. Our members, along with the rest of our program, worked with all visitors to explain our robot's function and the importance of STEM education for students.

Maker Faire Orlando
Our entire robotics program went to Orlando Maker Faire to demo our robots and show kids how to program Lego EV3's by using a drag and drop coding technique. We brought out our robot and drove it around, picking up the yellow balls and shooting them to that the kids could catch them. Our shooter angle was adjusted so that we didn't accidentally hit anyone's face, and the robot was a fantastic hit! We even let kids drive our robot around so they could get a little bit of insight on what it is like to do so. The kids really enjoyed this, and we showed them how different parts of our robot functioned!

Publix Demo
Cyber Shock, with our entire robotics program, went to a local Publix in order to present our program's information to passerby. As an effort to continue to promote STEM in our local community, our team demoed Reign and other program robots throughout the day, as well as distributing program flyers.
